Red Dot is one of the most prestigious design awards in the world and is a special honour only given to the highest quality designs.

Designed in partnership with King Living Senior Designer Sebastian Clarke and Founder David King, the 1977 Sofa is a classic reimagined.   

Honouring the simplicity of the past while embracing the innovation of the present, the 1977 Sofa redefines the meaning of timeless design.  

“As a contemporary homage to the first King Living Sofa created in the seventies, the 1977 Sofa incorporates modern materials and construction methods,” Sebastian shared. “We aimed to enhance functionality without compromising the classic silhouette.”

Flexible Modular Design 

Reflecting the dynamic nature of modern living, the 1977 Sofa features a flexible modular design that can quickly adapt to your changing lifestyle and space requirements.  

"In a constantly changing world, the 1977 Sofa stands as a testament to versatility,” Sebastian shared. “Designed with modern lifestyles in mind, it adapts, transforms, and grows with you." 

Whether you need to move the chaise from left to right, reconfigure the individual sofa modules, or add additional modules, the design offers complete adaptability.

The 1977 Sofa Collection has continued to evolve, with now with the options to add modular arms or complement with ottomans and highback modules. The flexible design even inspired our modular 1977 Pool Float, which allows you to zip together single floats to create a twin or any size lounge
